      Richard James Labberton, 47, Toppenish, died Sunday [28 Apr 1968] in his home at Toppenish of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Labberton was born in Wapato, and had lived in the Yakima Valley all his life. He was a veteran of World War II, and a past commander of the Wapato American Legion. He also was an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was assistant plant supervisor for Wapato Fruit Products. He is survived by a daughter, Miss Sally Labberton, Seattle; two brothers, Ted and Frank Labberton, both of Wapato; and a sister, Mrs. Ray Bower, Wapato. Mr. Labberton's wife died 18 years ago. She was the former Winnifred Searls of Toppenish.
