    Notes
    • It is likely that Charles Jeanson and Marie Aucoin had four children, Charles, fils; Jean; Marie; and Paul who immigrated to Louisiana. Steven A. Cormier has a well-documented discussion of supporting this reasoning in the appendices to his website, Acadians in Grey.

The analysis of William N. and Loucille E. Gremillion that Charles, fils was the son of Jean-Baptiste Jeanson and Marie-Josèphe Laure (Lord) apprears flawed because it does not take into account William Johnson's second son Charles, père. The Gremillions also assume that Joseph Jeanson was another sibling, not cousin, as posited by Cormier. [4, 5]
