This headstone was placed at the grave site on 25 Aug 2018 to replace an earlier gravemarker inscribed “Alonzo Spaulding, 1872-1945, Greenwood Cemetery.” “Gran” is how Lon Spaulding was know to his five grandchildren, all living when the new headstone was placed at the cemetery.

      13739. ALONZO-9 [12139], (Daniel-8, Willard-7, Willard-6, Daniel-5, Henry-4, Henry-3, Andrew-2, Edward-1), born December 30, 1834, in Smyrna, Maine; married Christina Langdon, July 4, 1864; she was born May 10, 1846.

      At the age of twenty-one, all his family moved to Minnesota. He lived there thirty-three years, and then moved to Washington Territory in 1888, where he resides at Fruitland. For over thirty years he worked at the Blacksmith's trade.

      He served in the Civil War in 2d Minnesota Light Artillery.
